-The European Master on Software Engineering is constructed to meet these challenges by educating software developers in advanced software engineering concepts that cover the entire development chain, from the business management perspective to the technical management and the development perspectives.
-The programme spans two years, and is organised around a set of mandatory and optional courses. The mandatory courses provide a broad basis and cover several advanced topics, which the software engineering industry currently requires. Moreover, they ensure a common ground for all students. The optional courses enable students to specialise within a specific perspective and thus to increase their attractiveness to future employers in a way that they see fit. All courses are designed to present a blend of state-of-practice and state-of-the-art. This is further strengthened by the fact that the university hosts active research within the areas of all the mandatory courses.
-The program of European Master in Software Engineering (EMSE) is an international master program. It is in cooperation with the departments of computer science of four Universities:
- •Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), in Karlskrona, Sweden
-•University of Kaiserslautern (TU-KL), in Kaiserslautern, Germany
-•Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (FUB), in Bolzano, Italy
-•Technical University of Madrid (UPM), in Madrid, Spain (partnership until 2013)
-Since it is a 2-year master program, an EMSE student can choose 2 out of these partner universities and spend two semester of their master study in each university. In other words, TU-KL may be chosen for either the 1st year or the 2nd year master study.
